Marmaris - part 2

Here is something more about Marmaris from my personal experience. First of all, I would always suggest it as a perfect place for vacation. Main reasson is because it is not so large place but on the other hand there is enough stores, bars and people that you can never get bored. I must mention that next to Marmaris is another, even smaller place Icmeler, which is a copy of "older brother" Marmaris. Little bit later abour it more.

Beach in Marmaris can not be considered as perfect in any case but beaches around which you can reach easily by boats which are everything but expensive are so beautiful that you will be more then excited. Small, completely out of sight and city, with sand so white and water so clear that on the moments you will think that you are in hotel pool. It's that kind of beaches which you see in postcards (if someone is still using them) and on desktop wallpapers. There are so many little and bigger boat cruises which can get you there very easily and in short time.

In the city you can find a lot of stores where you can by some souvenirs or some clothes. When you first step in them if you are not dragged inside before that everything will seem very expensive. But as in whole Turkey you can try and for sure you will get it much lower price then the one you heard at start. Some people like very much this kind of buying, without fix prices. 

Restaurants are all over the place but if you want to try something really delicious and Turkish you have to go bit dipper in city where you can try tasteful national meals in prices which you can't find anywhere else. Reasson why those places are so good because locals use them as well. If you are there you must try their "Iskender kebab". Basically it's bread on the bottom with various meat and spice tomato sauce on top with yogurt on the side. It sounds simple but it's one of the best things you can try there.

Very popular bar street in city is crowded at night and if you want that kind of fun there are night clubs, bars and everything else. I can't recommend some of  them but you can't be wrong with either of them.

Very near bar street is also a big covered market. You maybe think at first it's some market under open sky but it's more like some mall. Don't expect there everything to be cheap but if you persistent you can have it at reasonable price. That people which sell all that stuff are like psychologists. They almost know how much you can pay something even before you. If you are from some western Europe country you will pay more and if you come from Serbia for example you can get it little bit cheaper.

In Marmaris you can find variety of hotels. There is something for everyones budget. You don't have to run away from cheaper hotels as they are really good. Nice hotel with three star has everything you need. It's clean (as all they are really), good food with large portions, pool, safe,.... Just try to get one near the beach as everything is happening there. You can also go in some 5 star resort hotel which is also good choice ans so much expensive but you have to know first what do you want from you vacation. For those people which will not be whole days by the pool better is smaller hotel in city.

Marmaris in one of the best places for visiting Turkey most popular sightings as it's location nearest then any other city there. I will mention just few of them. River Dalian, Pamukkale, Efes, Cleopatra's beach,..... More about them other time. You don't want to miss any of them, trust me. Best way to visit them is in groups organized by tourist guides. You can sign in on every corner but don't forget to get lower price then the one they are offering to you. Best way is to go with your own agency tour guide. 

Just to mention Icmeler as it would not be OK when you talk about Marmaris. Icmeler is on 15 minutes walking from Marmaris or 3 minutes by bus. It's as I already said copy of Marmaris as it was built later and it was built with one main purpose. To be quiet place for families. You have there everything what you have in bigger Marmaris. Shops, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, big and small hotels. Difference is that all bars and shops are closed at 10 or 11 p.m., music is never so loud, there are no so many people and traffic and beaches in town are much more better. You if you are with your family and kids this can be a better option.
